Based on Holst's Planet suite - Mars
His music was influenced by Indian spiritualism and English folk tunes. He was born in 1847 in Cheltenham. To earn a living in the era before he had a satisfactory income from his compositions, he played the trombonein a popular orchestra called the "White Viennese Band". This piece was our opening piece for a while. Its a demanding start but sets us up for a great show.
